Congratulations to the Team from the University of Richmond
Winners of the
3rd Annual CFA Virginia
Investment Research Challenge
held on February 26, 2010. The team will advance to the CFA Institute North American regional competition in New York City on March 17-18. The winner of the regional competition will advance to the Global Championship in Hong Kong in April.
Team members were Nicholas Chew, Jessica Murray, Jill Gramolini, and Gordon James O’Brien. The faculty advisor was Dr. David S. North and the team mentor was Chris Dion.
Teams were evaluated 50% on their written research papers and 50% on their oral presentations, both of which were focused on an investment analysis of CarMax.
First runner up was The College of William and Mary, whose faculty advisors were Dr. James R. Haltiner and Dr Gjergji Cici. Peter Gore was the team mentor.
Other schools participating in the competition this year were Hampden-Sydney College, James Madison University, Virginia Commonwealth University, and the University of Virginia.
